How to use the Cards

This Deck is divided into 3 categories, each identified by a unique symbol at the bottom of the card. These categories provide guidance for deeper, more intentional reading styles, helping you sort and interpret the cards with clarity. The Guidebook explores the importance of understanding your needs and feelings, offering meaningful insights and personal reflections. It also includes an Animal index that connects different animals – empowering you to meet unmet needs and shift challenging emotions. There is also 1 Wild Card in the deck that can represent any need or feeling you want that is not in the deck.

Using The Cards With Others

• Icebreaker: Cosmic Animal Cards offer a creative way to break the ice at gatherings, events, or parties. Invite each person to select a card that resonates with them or reflects something meaningful they’d like to share. This activity gently encourages everyone to open up, break down barriers, and connect over shared insights in a relaxed, memorable way.
• Silent Animal Messengers: When feeling shy, blocked, or unsure how to approach someone, use a card as a silent messenger to share your feelings or needs. Discreetly pass it to the person (or leave it somewhere they’ll find) as a subtle, thoughtful way to begin a conversation. This gesture invites empathy without the need for words.
• Communication & Conflict Resolution Aid: Draw cards to represent each person’s feelings or needs, using the Cosmic Animal symbolism to explore perspectives in a neutral way. This can help give you language to use when you don’t know what to say or where to start.

I’m Tanya Casteel, the artist & author of the Cosmic Animal Cards. This deck is the result of 5 years of devotion.  I’ve poured my heart into painting these Animals and writing their symbolism, inspired by my dreams during a time of profound grief. The wisdom of these Cosmic Animals helped me navigate loss, gain clarity, and find healing—and now I’m ready to share their transformative energy with you.
