Vulture

Meaning & Symbolism

Insecure

vulture spiritual meaning symbolism

The Vulture symbolizes the feeling of insecurity, inviting us to confront our doubts and turn them into strengths. Insecurity can manifest as a fear of being unseen or undervalued, or as a reluctance to take on challenges that feel too messy or insignificant. Vulture teaches us that even the smallest, dirtiest jobs hold importance and meaning. It reminds us to recognize our intrinsic value and trust that every role we play contributes to the greater harmony of life.

Despite their humble and unassuming nature, Vultures are vital to their ecosystems. They restore balance to forgotten places by cleaning up what others leave behind, transforming decay into renewal. This reminds us that what feels like a low point or an undesirable task may actually be an opportunity for growth and transformation. Through their work, Vultures illustrate that no contribution is too small or insignificant—it all matters.

One of Vulture’s unique features is its bald head, which prevents bacteria from clinging to feathers while they eat. This clever adaptation invites us to focus on what works best for us, rather than comparing ourselves to others. What practices, habits, or boundaries keep you clean and clear in your own life? Focus on self-care that aligns with your needs, not societal expectations.

Vultures also know their strengths and limitations. They lack strong talons, so they often wait for other predators to tear open a meal before stepping in. This strategic approach highlights the power of collaboration and self-awareness. Where can you lean on others for support, allowing your unique strengths to shine without overextending yourself?

Vulture’s stomach acid is the most corrosive of all birds, capable of neutralizing harmful bacteria. This resilience reminds us that we can handle difficult situations without letting them poison us. Don’t let others’ dramas or negativity weigh you down. Call upon your inner strength to process life’s challenges and transform them into wisdom and growth.

Interestingly, Vultures are nearly silent creatures, communicating primarily through body language and performance. They show us that we don’t need to shout to be heard or seek external validation to prove our worth. Offering humble service and a quiet, steady presence can be its own profound gift.

When Vulture crosses your path, it asks you to rise above insecurity and trust in your ability to navigate life’s messiest challenges with grace and purpose. By embracing your strengths, accepting help where needed, and letting go of external validation, you’ll discover the quiet power of renewal and resilience.

Today while doing my early rising walk I got to the end of the road and asked spirit for guidance. I then looked up and saw the number 8 and the sign in front of me so I decided to walk the path 8 is that I have been surrounded by this number lately. As I walked the unfamiliar street I got to an are where I was ready to turn around and go back home because at this time I had been walking for nearly an hour or more. As I turned I noticed a bush that resembles an elderberry bush. I wasn’t sure but I felt that’s exactly what it was so I grabbed a berry from the bush and threw it in my mouth to taste it. I then turned around and what did I see??? There was a tree in the front of a yard that had 14 vultures sitting at the top they even gave me a divine show by turning their backs to the sun and spreading their wings. I was later told that that’s how they dry their wings. This experience was very fascinating to me because this was also a vision/dream that I had months ago. In my vision/dream, I looked out the window and there were so many vultures covering the tree too many to count. There were so many that it appeared to be dark out and there was this one that stood out by looking older than the rest of them and it had red on it upper part of the body. Lastly, as I was completing my morning walk walking away from the beautiful pleasant view of the vultures I looked up in the sky and it was at least 50 of them flying over me. There were so many that I was in aw and I became emotional and my body got chills all over it.

That experience today is what lead me to this page.

Thank you for sharing your incredible journey—what a profound experience! Vultures are deeply symbolic creatures, often associated with renewal, purification, and the cycles of life and death. Their presence, particularly in such overwhelming numbers and with the vision tying into your earlier dream, feels like a powerful message from Spirit. The act of spreading their wings to dry in the sun, a gesture of transformation and release, could mirror your own journey of shedding what no longer serves you and embracing a new chapter.

The number 8 appearing in your walk adds another layer, symbolizing infinity, balance, and cycles. It seems the universe is guiding you to trust this unfolding process, offering signs of connection and reassurance along your path. How beautiful that this moment led you here! Embrace this energy—it feels like a divine confirmation that you are on the right path. 🌟

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful perspectives of Vulture. I just saw three near my home today and had to look it up. I already knew some about them and like to look at others perspectives. Usually only see them flying or at the beach. I relate to so much of it with my life right now. I am an energy practitioner. Love seeing the MAGIC’ALL synchronicities. <3. They are such a-maze-sing creatures, as all are in our own way. <3 Love your HeArtwork. Love watercolours.
